biography

TANIA NYBERG : ARTIST,CREATIVE DIRECTOR, PHOTOGRAPHER. raised in the outdoor lifestyle in oceans to mountains. She is a strong conceptualist in the world of both photography and design.
She has gained admiration for her work by combining art and the art of science by observing human behavior and their environment. Innately Nyberg interest and active in art, design and photography before she even remembers. Influenced by herself and her mothers painting she first started drawing, painting and later took on photography. Creating a reflection of the world around her was been a ongoing mission.

Nyberg’s work is known to emphasize a quirky and playful humor, often with a witty flirtatious innocence and real fresh energetic colours. She covers often assignments in extreme fashion/lifestyle, portraiture, sports, music, travel, architecture, interior and advertising. Her work that has been featured in advertising campaigns from Winter Olympics and the likes of major international companies such as Rembrandt, Axe, Sony and recently Avinor, along with agency and production firms as TBWA, BBH, BBDO, Mother, Partizan Traktor and locally Fasett.

In 2005 she was advertised internationally by NIKON for her editorial and exhibited work. As well has had public exhibitions on conceptual series ‘MAMMA’s BOY’, which has been shown in Asia, USA and Europe. This prosperous duality is also present in Nyberg’s publication exposure, which includes professional journals such as National Geographic, Cosmopolitan, Snowboarder, Harpers Bazaar (Taiwan), Mamma, and Bang (Taiwan), as well as broad based and specialized public journals and editorial entertainment assignments from Verdens Gang (Norway’s largest daily newspaper), photographed Elton John, Eva Longoria, Meatloaf, and Flaming Lips, Izabella Scorupco, Sondre Lerche, Metric, Feist, Big Bang amongst many numerous well known talents and artists.

In 2010 her recent series “CONSUME&DEVOUR” was exhibited at Stavanger Kunstforening and has sold impeccably in Norway. Also did advertising for TRIBECA AWARDED movie FÅ MEG PÅ, FOR FAEN that came out in August 2011. Has been Awarded dor Black & White Nomination for Abstract Photo Art in 2012.

Currently, she works within film, fashion and advertising campaigns, and holding photography workshops in Norway and world wide.

After photographing for the Snowboard Olympic teams and for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, Nyberg started a collaborative, annual art, extreme sport and historic lifestyle magazine called
THE REBEL which was sold limited editions and online. That was sold out within a month.

From 2013, Nyberg has taken a deeper interest in environmental projects. She has moulded her work into numerous projects including the ‘SEA SICK FISH’ Project and now founder of the organization.
With works into OCEAN+HUMAN project collaborating and direction in exhibitions and community motivation in reducing marine waste for aquaculture and marine ecology. Nyberg has proceeded in experteese in material science with nano and microplastics. This has included exploring coasts along Norway and most recently sailed along the Amazon for a month with a female collaboration called eXXpedition documenting and researching waste in the ocean including micro plastics, nano plastic, toxic chemicals, observing ocean ecology discovering the essential solutions with science and awareness that can help the ocean to heal. Working with UNEP collaboration with worldwide Government funds in ASIA including TAIWAN, THAILAND AND SOON JAPAN
during 2021 Olympics.

EDUCATION:
1994-1998 she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology at Richmond, The AI University in London
1995-1998 Photography and Design at Royal College Of Art, London
1999 UCLA Print Output and publishing/Advertising an Art Direction.
2001-2003 Master of Fine Arts in photography at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
2016-2018 Stanford University, Material Science and Marine Ecology Research Sudies focusing on Nano-Microplastics
